11/04...Peter Redekop's eight-year-old Commodore Craig (Vying Victor) put in another good effort to finish third in the tenth race, a $15,000 sprint. Mike Boylan and TD Stables' top sophomore Ookashada (Millennium Allstar) failed to fire in the featured 11th race, an open allowance race over 8.5 furlongs in the slop and finished fifth.

Roy and Dixie Jacobson's homebred Tyger Gold (Katahaula County) was much the best in Saturday's first race, taking an $8,000 conditional claimer by 8 3/4 lengths over the sloppy strip. The winner was ridden by Frank Fuentes and was claimed out of the 8.5 furlong test for the listed price. Ken Pert's E Commerce (Mass Market) returned in six days to finish third for $15,000 in the fourth race and Badgett's Star (Bold Badgett), racing for Pink Ribbon Stable, Tracy Bell and Lindsay McLeod and Mary Martin proved second best in the fifth. Dixie Jacobson's Ohsolucky finished off the board in the sixth.



10/28...E Commerce
(Mass Market) notched her fourth win of the season on a rainy Sunday afternoon at Hastings. Ken Pert's speedy filly was ridden by Mario Gutierrez and covered the sloppy 6.5 furlongs in 1:18.33 as the race favourite, besting a field of low-level claimers by two widening lengths.

Pink Ribbon Stable, Tracy Bell and Lindsay McLeod and Mary Martin's determinded California-bred five-year-old Badgett's Star (Bold Badgett) notched her second victory of the season on Saturday, defeating a field of $8,000 fillies and mares by 3 3/4 lengths under Dave Wilson. The lightly-raced mare sped 6.5 furlongs in 1:17.6 and returned a modest $3.50 as the heavy favourite.

Peter Redekop's eight-year-old gelding Commodore Craig (Vying Victor) came up with a game effort to defeat a field of $15,000 sprinters by a head on Sunday afternoon. Sent off as the favorite and ridden by Dave Wilson, the BC-bred covered 6.5 furlongs in a quick 1:16.62 to return a modest $3.80.

Sunday was Derby Day at Hastings and Dixie Jacobson's older gelding Osolucky (Tejabo), won his first race of the season vaulting the stable back into first place in the trainer standings.

09/22...
The stable gained a share of the training lead on Saturday, notching two winners on the eleven-race Oaks' Day card. Mike Boylan and TD Stables' private purchase Freequartersmine (Finality) won a two-year-old allowance sprint with an awesome display of speed, completing 6 1/2 furlongs in stakes-winning type time of 1:17.66. Two races later Alpha Danjur (Danjur), racing for Peter Redekop, took a conditioned claimer over 8.5 furlongs, leading throughout.

KY-bred Launch Our Star (El Corredor), racing for Simichiello Stables, held on gamely to prevail by a head over $20,000 nw/2 fillies and mares on Sunday.

09/15...
Ken Pert's three-year-old filly E Commerce (Mass Market) made it three wins from four starts since joining the stable, when she polished off a group of conditioned claimers Saturday at Hastings. The victory was the stable's 34th of the season.



08/26...Freequartersmine
(Finality), a recent purchase by Mike Boylan and TD Stable earned his first black-type Sunday afternoon when he held on gamely to finish third in the $50,000 New Westminster Stakes at Hastings. The speedy son of leading Canadian two-year-old sire Finality set a sizzling pace before giving away grudgingly to be beaten 2 1/2 lengths at the finish.

Recent BC Cup Stellar Jay Stakes winner Ookashada (Millennium Allstar), racing for Mike Boylan and TD Stables and ridden as usual by Pedro Alvarado, finished third in Edmonton's prestigious $300,000 Canadian Derby on Saturday. Racing to the outside through much of the marathon 11 furlongs, the 2006 BC-bred juvenile champion finished well to be beaten less than four lengths by the winner and race favourite, KY-bred Footprint (Gold Case) and 2 1/2 lengths for the place by Gandolf (Belong to Me), a KY-bred shipped-in from Del Mar. Meanwhile back at Hastings, Mike Boylan's sophomore KY-bred filly Hidden Heart (Kingmambo), broke her maiden impressively, leading throughout a maiden special weight affair to draw away to a 5 3/4 length victory under Frank Fuentes. The veteran rider also guided Roy and Dixie Jacobson's homebred three-year-old Tyger Gold (Katahuala County) to a fourth-place finish in a $50,000 optional over 8.5 furlongs.

Peter Redekop's three-year-old gelding Sir Luther (Devil's Bag), ridden by Pedro Alvarado, seized the lead leaving the gate and increased his advantage throughout a 6.5 furlong test for $25,000 maiden sophomores on Sunday afternoon to score by 4 3/4 lengths. The overwhelming favorite returned $4.70 and took 1:18.21 to complete his journey over a fast racing strip...Ealier on the card, two-year-old, first time starter Li'l Drumfire (Yoonevano), racing for Patricia McCarthy and Dr. Sheila McDonald, finished off the board after racing forwardly on the inside throughout the six furlong maiden affair...In the seventh and feature, a 6.5 furlong sprint for $25,000 older horses, Commodore Craig (Vying Victor), racing for Peter Redekop and ridden by Pedro Alvarado, made an inside move to finish a good third, beaten 1 1/4 lengths in the rapid time of 1:16.74.

...Stable newcomer E Commerce (Mass Market), racing for Ken and Anne Pert, took little time to find the winners circle, winning Hastings' eighth race easily. The three-year-old filly won the 6.5 furlong claiming event by 2 3/4 lengths in 1:18.90 and paid $5.40 as the crowd favorite...Earlier, in the sixth race, a $11,000 claiming sprint for older horses, Jacobson, Marsh and Kelly's older gelding Above the Clouds (Feu d'Enfer), finished second beaten a length under Pedro Alvarado after getting caught up in a pressured pace duel while racing on the outside. The gelding was claimed from his good effort.

...R. and D. Jacobson's homebred sophmore Patriotic (Sea Salute), ridden by Mario Gutierrez, finished third as the 2-1 choice in a $25,000 sprint over Hastings sloppy strip on Sunday before being claimed in a two-way shake out of his even paced performance...In the eight race, a 6.5 furlong maiden affair for $25,000, Peter Redekop's three-year-old gelding Sir Luther (Devil's Bag), with Richard Hamel up, gained the lead briefly down the backstretch while racing wide before tiring on the far turn to finish fourth.

07/21...Anywaythewindblows
(Regal Intention), racing for Peter Redekop and ridden once again by Richard Hamel, logged another second place finish in Saturday's fourth race, a conditoned $8,000 claimer over 6.5 sloppy furlongs...In the sixth race, the first of the popular starter handicap series, Simichiello Stables Rip Cord (Mass Market), raced evenly throughout the nine furlongs under Jason Pang but couldn't make a significant impact and finished eight in the twelve-horse field.

...M. Boylan and T.D. Stables' Jajas Legacy (Alfaari), a two-year-old half-brother to Ookashada (Millennium Allstar), made his debut on a rainy Friday afternoon at Hastings, finishing third after breaking slowly in a six furlong maiden-special-weight event...In the fifth, a nine furlong test for $25,000 sellers, Brenda Kinsella and Dixie Jacobson's $8,000 claim Osolucky (Tejabo), raced forwardly but lacked a late response and finished fourth as the favourite...In the eighth and feature event of the day, Roy and Dixie Jacobson's Tyger Gold (Katahuala County) failed in an attempt to make it two straight victories when he was impeded racing into the first turn and clipped heels. The stewards advanced his position from fifth to fourth in the 6.5 furlong race.

...The stable had just one starter at Hastings on Sunday with Peter Redekop's consistent gelding Great Prince (Albert The Great) coming home infront of a compact field of $8,000 conditioned claimers to take the third race by a neck. Mario Gutierrez guided the four-year-old through 8.5 furlongs in 1:45.41 over the fast Hastings' strip and the KY-bred returned a modest $3.60 to his supporters as the overwhelming favourite.

07/14...Juvenile colt Star Prospector (Millennium Allstar), a 2006 sales purchase racing for Mike Boylan and TD Stables, successfully stretched his speed over 6 furlongs on Saturday and walked away from a short field of $25,000 claiming two-year-olds to a seven-length victory under Pedro Alvarado in Hastings' third race. The winner was claimed for the listed price...Mike Boylan claimed second-place finisher Sindi's Success for $15,000 from the sixth race, a 6.5 furlong affair for fillies and mares...In the feature, the $50,000 Timber Music Stakes for two-year-old fillies, Alvarado guided Peter Redekop's homebred Alpine Lass (Officer), to an impressive 1 1/4 length victory in the excellent time of 1:17.78 for the 6.5 furlongs. Carrying highweight under the allowance conditions based on her earlier maiden victory, the favorite led from the start and improved her record to two wins from three starts and earned a well deserved rest according to her connections.

Mike Boylan and TD Stables' precocious sophmore, Ookashada (Millenium Allstar) became the first winner of the $50,000 Chris Loseth Stakes at Hastings on Sunday afternoon. British Columbia's champion juvenile of 2006 had his regular rider Pedro Alvarado aboard for his second stakes victory of the year and fourth of his young career while improving his record to 9-4-1-3 and earnings of well over $225,000. The winning margin was a half-length and the final time for the 8.5 furlongs was 1:45.06. Ookashada was the overwhelming favourite and returned a meagre $3.70...Earlier, in the third race, a $35,000 sprint, Simichiello Stable's sophmore filly Launch Our Star, also ridden by Alvarado, finished third after pressing the pace throughout...In the fourth race, Mario Gutierrez guided Jacobson, Marsh and Kelly's older gelding Above the Clouds (Feu d'Enfer) to a solid second-place finish in a $15,000 6 1/2 furlong affair...The co-featured seventh race brought another victory when Peter Redekop's well-bred gelding Commodore Craig (Vying Victor) gained a hard-fought win over a solid group of $25,000 sprinters under Pedro Pedro Alvarado...Simichiello's No Sox Fox (Silver Fox), finished just a little more than a length behind his stablemate in fifth after racing wide.

07/07...Rip Cord
(Mass Market), racing for Simichiello Stables and ridden again by Richard Hamel, took his second in a row when he won the sixth race Saturday, an $8,000 test over 8.5 furlongs by a convinciong 1 1/2 lengths...In the eighth and last race, Peter Redekop's three-year-old Sir Luther (Devil's Bag) came back at his claimed level to finish a solid second after leading throughout the six furlong, $25,000 event.

...The first Friday matinee card at Hastings saw Roy and Dixie Jacobson's homebred Tyger Gold (Katahaula County) break through for his first win of the 2007 meet. Reunited with Pedro Alvarado and making his first start for a claiming price, the three-year-old just lasted to win by a nose in an 8.5 furlong, $35,000 claiming event after opening up a two-length lead into the stretch. The half-brother to MSW Shelby Madison (Regal Intention) covered the middle distance in 1:46.38 and returned $9.20.

...The action started early on the holiday Monday when Alpine Lass (Officer), racing in the colors of her breeder, Peter Redekop, left the maiden ranks in a hurry. The KY-bred miss sprinted to victory over a promising group of juvenile fillies under Pedro Alvarado...Less than a half-hour later, Redekop returned to the winner's circle to greet his three-year-old filly Amber Morn (Mass Market), winner of the second race, an $11,000 claiming sprint with Dave Wilson aboard...The win-streak ended in the third race when sophomore filly Anywaythewindblows (Regal Intention), ridden by Richard Hamel and going for her third win of the meet, finished second after setting a pressured pace to the stretch...In the eighth and feature race of the day, a 6 1/2 furlong Allowance/Optional $35,000 sprint for fillies and mares, Pink Ribbon Stable, Tracy Bell and Lindsay McLeod's Cal-bred Badgett's Star (Bold Badgett), ridden by Jason Pang, gained the lead briefly from the inside on the far turn before flattening out through the lane to finish fifth, beaten just under two lengths for the win.

07/01...The large Canada Day crowd at Hastings on Sunday provided the perfect backdrop for Roy and Dixie Jacobson's homebred Patriotic (Sea Salute) to notch an impressive win in the fourth race over $20,000 sophomores under leading rider Mario Gutierrez...In the fifth race, Dixie Jacobson and Brenda Kinsella's astute claim Osolucky (Tejabo), ridden by Pedro Alvarado, loomed large turning for home before relinquishing the lead to the eventual winner and finishing second as the favourite.

...Saturday's co-feature at Hastings saw Simichiello's Fl-bred Resident Authority (Successful Appeal), garner his second win of the season with a dominating 5 3/4 length victory over a field of $25,000 sellers going 8.5 furlongs. With journeyman Richard Hamel aboard, the five-year-old gelding stalked the leaders before drawing away through the abbreviated Hastings stretch and stopping the timer in 1:44.94.

...R. and D. Jacobson, Jim Marsh and C. Kelly's recent claim Above the Clouds (Feu d'Enfer), finished third in the eighth race Sunday after opening up a 2 1/2 length lead on the far turn and tiring in the stretch...In the ninth, an 8.5 furlong conditioned claimer, Great Prince (Albert the Great), pressed the pace before drawing clear to a three-length win under Mario Gutierrez. The four-year-old KY-bred was claimed from his last start by current owner Peter Redekop...In the last race another one of Redekop's recent claim's Commodore Craig (Vying Victor), made a mild rally along the rail to finish fourth after trailing early in a $25,000 sprint.

...Simichiello Stables' four-year-old Rip Cord (Mass Market), under a polished ride from veteran Richard Hamel, took to the 8.5 furlong distance with gusto and cruised to a 4 1/2 length victory over a group of low-level claimers on Saturday. The BC-bred gelding, notching his fourth carreer win from fourteen starts and his third at Saturday's distance, returned $6.10 on the top.

...Peter Redekop's homebred, juvenile filly Alpine Lass (Officer) made a promising debut on Saturday afternoon, finishing just a head back of the winner in a 3 1/2 furlong maiden-special-weight sprint over the nursery course. Ridden by Frank Fuentes, the well-bred miss rallied gamely through the short stretch and paid $2.90 to place...Meanwhile at Stampede Park, Redekop's California shipper Amazin Blue (Marquetry), trained by Jerry Hollendorfer was winning the prestigious $125,000 Alberta Derby at the expense of Mike Boylan and TD Stable's local hero Ookashada (Millennium Allstar), who finished third as the favorite, beaten 2 3/4 lengths for all the money after breaking poorly under Pedro Alvarado...In Hastings' fourth race, KY-bred Launch Our Star (El Corredor), racing for Simichiello Stables and ridden by Frank Fuentes, went unplaced against $25,000 winners after racing wide throughout a 6 1/2 furlong sophomore filly sprint.

Sunday's seventh race at Hastings, another 6 1/2 furlong sprint, saw Pink Ribbon Stable, Tracy Bell and Lindsay McLeod's Cal-bred Badgett's Star (Bold Badgett), draw clear late from a full field of $20,000 fillies and mares to win by 1 1/2 lengths under apprentice Jason Pang. The lightly-raced five-year-old stopped the timer in a respectable 1:17.63 and returned $8.20 to her many supporters...Earlier, in the fifth race, Simichiello Stables' modest claimer Rip Cord (Mass Market) failed to sustain his speed and finished off the board...In the eighth, Simichiello's improving Fl-bred Resident Authority (Successful Appeal), finished fifth for $25,000, losing the place spot in a four-horse photo...Meanwhile, in the sixth race, a maiden affair for $25,000 three-year-olds, Peter Redekop made another astute claim when he took first-time starter Sir Luther (Devils Bag), who finished third.

...Simichiello Stables' KY-bred, sophomore filly Launch Our Star (El Corredor), led throughout to easily defeat a $25,000 field of maiden fillies by five widening lengths on a hot Saturday afternoon at Hastings. Ridden by Frank Fuentes, the winner covered 6 1/2 furlongs in 1:18.0 and paid $7.80 to win...Patricia McCarthy and Dr. Sheila McDonald's two-year-old gelding Lil Drumfire (Yoonevano) was scratched from the first race.

...2006 British Columbia juvenile champion Ookashada (Millennium Allstar), seized command entering the stretch on his way to a convincing victory in the $50,000 Jim Coleman 'Cap on Victoria Day at Hastings. Ridden by Pedro Alvarado for owners Mike Boyland and TD Stable, the flashy chestnut stopped the timer in 1:18.06 and returned a modest $4.70 as the favourite...Earlier on the card, Simichiello Stable's Fl-bred Resident Authority (Successful Appeal) with Richard Hamel aboard, lit up the tote board with a 33-1 score over a group of $20,000 platers...The stable kept busy on the afternoon with R and D Jacobson, Jim Marsh and C. Kelly claiming Above the Clouds, fourth-place finisher in the same race, and Peter Redekop spending $25,000 in the seventh race for impressive winner Commodore Craig.

05/20...The stable got off to a excellent start on Sunday when Peter Redekop's KY-bred four-year-old filly Autum Mist (Menifee) rallied from just off the pace to easily defeat a field of $11,000 distaffers by 3 1/4 lengths, covering 6 1/2 sloppy furlongs in 1:19.08 under Dave Wilson...Less than an hour later, in the third race, a $15,000 conditioned claiming event for three-year-old fillies, Wilson guided Redekop's BC-bred Amber Morn (Mass Market) to a half length victory, completing the redundant 6 1/2 furlong trip in 1:20.19...In the co-featured sixth race, an open $25,000 sprint for fillies and mares April Foolish (Amaruk), a seven-year-old BC-bred mare racing for E. and E. Vandenborn and Roy and Dixie Jacobson went two for two in the young season when she spashed to an authoritive 4 3/4 length win giving Dave Wilson his third victory on the card...Also in the sixth, Pink Ribbon Stable, Tracy Bell and Lindsay McLeod's Cal-bred Badgett's Star (Bold Badgett), making her first start of the year, tired in late stretch after setting the early pace in a game effort while finishing third under Jason Pang.

On Preakness day at Hastings, Roy and Dixie Jacobson's homebred Tyger Gold (Katahaula County) raced extremely wide throughout the entire 6 1/2 furlongs before finishing 7th in a field of $50,000 optional claimers...In the eighth and last race, Angel Ride, racing for Peter Redekop and ridden by Mario Gutierrez, failed to hit the board as the favourite in a dissapointing effort.

(Regal Intention), racing for Peter Redekop, tired and finished off the board after setting the pace in a conditioned claimer going 6 1/2 furlongs in the second race on Sunday afternoon...In the fourth race, an open $8,000 claiming sprint for older horses, Simichiello Stables Rip Cord (Mass Market) finished well under Jason Pang to get fourth money at long odds...In the ninth and featured race on the card, Simichiello's No Sox Fox (Silver Fox), finished third as the favourite in a quality laden field of $35,000 platers after racing wide and closing well through the stretch...The ninth race brought the day's first winner when Peter Redekop's three-year-old Arizona Dream (Stephanotis), ridden by Mario Gutierrez, came from just off the pace to prevail by a neck over a group of maiden claimers. Arizona Dream returned $9.00 to his supporters and completed the 6 1/2 furlongs in 1:21.19 over a track that remained fast throughout the Mother's Day afternoon.

Roy and Dixie Jacobson's Favour for Joey (Vying Victor) used his past class to defeat a field of low level claimers at six furlongs in the tenth race on Sunday's card. The seven-year-old was ridden by Mario Gutierrez and completed the journey in 1:12.67 over a fast hastings' strip before going to a new barn via the claim box.

(Amaruk), a seven-year-old BC-bred mare campaining for Roy and Dixie Jacobson in partnership with E. and E. Vandenborn scored a smart win in her first start of the season on Saturday. The flashy chestnut defeated a full field of $25,000 claimers by 1 1/2 lengths in 1:19.24 while being ridden by Dave Wilson...Peter Redekop's KY-bred Autumn Mist (Menifee), gained ground on the rail before tiring to finish well behind her stablemate...In the third race, Redekop's sophomore filly Angel Ride (Regal Intention), ridden by Mario Gutierrez, closed well to finish second in a group of maiden claimers...

Mike Boylan and TD Stables two-year-old champion Ookashada (Millennium Allstar) finished second, beaten 1 3/4 lengths in Sunday's $50,000 sophomore colts and geldings division of the $50,000 CTHS Sale Stakes. Ridden by regular rider Pedro Alvarado, the talented chestnut was forced to share a tepid pace duel with the speedy Thesaratogaexpress (Feu d'Enfer) and had little left to fend off a a late charge from longshot Stephanson (Stephanotis)...In the second race, Peter Redekop's maiden three-year-old Arizona Dream (Stephanotis), showed speed before tiring under Mario Guiterrez...The co-featured seventh race, a $50,000 optional claiming sprint for three-year-olds saw Roy and Dixie Jacobson's homebred Tyger Gold (Katahaula County) produce an encouraging performance at long odds, finishing fourth after leading into the stretch under Fernado Perez.

Opening day at Hastings brought sunny skies and a maiden victory for Peter Redekop's four-year-old filly Anywaythewindblows (Regal Intention).
